Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a means by which library patrons may request materials from another library that are not owned by or accessible from the Ronald Williams Library. The Library cooperates with other libraries and information providers to provide items at the request of the library patron. ILL services are only available to current NEIU students, faculty and staff.
Follow the steps below to find books and articles available in the Library or to determine if you should make an Interlibrary Loan request.

PLEASE NOTE: ONLY TEXTBOOKS AVAILABLE IN THE I-SHARE CATALOG CAN BE REQUESTED. TEXTBOOKS NOT AVAILABLE IN THE I-SHARE CATALOG CAN NO LONGER BE REQUESTED THROUGH ILLIAD INTERLIBRARY LOAN.

FOR BOOKS - SEARCH NEIU LIBRARY CATALOG FIRST
IF BOOK IS Owned by the Library Right Arrow Come to the Library and retrieve book
Not owned by the Library but owned by an I-Share library Right Arrow Request book through the I-Share Catalog (Help)
Not found in the I-Share Catalog Right Arrow Request book through ILLiad Interlibrary Loan
FOR JOURNAL ARTICLES
IF JOURNAL ARTICLE IS Available online in fulltext Right Arrow Link to database or electronic journal to access article
Available in the Library in a print copy of the journal Right Arrow Come to the Library to read or photocopy journal article
NOT available in the Library or online Right Arrow Request journal article through ILLiad Interlibrary Loan

Please read the FAQ carefully to determine whether you should place a request through the I-Share Catalog or ILLiad Interlibrary Loan.
